So what is a thought leader?

The work we do at TAOSO is 100% focused on showing you how you become a thought leader.

A thought leader is someone who has done the work to stand tall and rise above the crowd as one with superior knowledge in the market space they work within.

Thought leaders play a unique role in the markets they serve. Thought leaders are rebels and challengers.  They tend to be the innovators and creators. Why, because they have done the work to possess superior knowledge about the challenges facing the people in the businesses they serve.

Thought leaders earn the title because they accept the responsibility to lead then, they commit all of their energies to always be learning and marketing their ideas.  They promote the heck out of themselves and work at speaking from the podium, writing for trade journals, being interviewed for podcast and radio, why because they are confident the ideas they hold are unique to them and of great value to those they serve.

When I use the term thought leader, people cock their head to one side and look at me with a quizzical look. They look at me like I’d just called someone a unicorn or suggested they possessed ninja-like skills.

Thought leaders are unique because they accept the responsibility to do the work and commit to using their knowledge to be the best leader they can be.

They commit to doing the hard work required to gain superior knowledge about the wicked problems vexing the businesses in the industry they serve. They possess an unwavering confidence their methods for solving those wicked business problems.

Journey Mapping

Kyoto, Japan at the Bamboo Forest.

I discovered Johann Wolfgang von Goethe a few years ago and realized I believe what he believed and he lived more than 350 years ago.

I mean I may have heard of his writings FAUST being his greatest writing achievement.

Goethe’s words helped me to manifest the energy and commitment to building The Art of Standing Out – Story Lab. Goethe’s words inspired me to be a business owner committed to gaining more knowledge than the other guys. Goethe’s words inspired me to think boldly and believe I was able to accomplish things I’d only previously dreamed about.  Goethe’s words inspired me to be a leader. A leader capable of delivering thought-provoking, compelling, actionable ideas to solve my clients wicked business problems.

In the following passage, Goethe talks about what he believes is the cornerstone to the success.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back — concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.

Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.

Begin it now.“
