Are you ready for the Metaverse?

The internet is over 30 years old.

If the worldwide web were a person, she would be an adult fully in her power.

By the age of 30, she would have amassed an array of academic training, work experience, coaching, and mentoring too.

But, the world wide web isn’t human, and as such, the worldwide web has amassed even previously unimaginable powers.

So, we shouldn’t be surprised that the world wide web is blossoming into something extraordinary.

I wonder, what would someone time traveling the year 1980 think of what we take for granted in the year 2022?

Imagine, upon arrival, they get an Occulus headset produced by the company formally known as Facebook (now Meta).

Of course, the time traveler would think they had arrived in a land of enchantment. A place where humans can fly and strange animal beings walk upright and behave like humans (think Fortnite).

But, of course, their point of reference would be from a movie watched in a theatre. Movies like The Wizard of OZ, or maybe they would think they had arrived on the planet Tatooine from Starwars.

But also, our world was abruptly turned upside down in 2020 by the pandemic, which felt like being transported to a strange new world where everyone kept their distance and covered every part of their body, leaving only their eyes exposed so they could see.

The year 2020 ushered us all into a strange new world indeed.

The notion that somehow, someway, something would begin turning the world right-side-up is only wishful thinking.

Accepting the world is changed forever is our simply acknowledging reality.

So what should be done to acclimate to our new world norms?

You know what? I don’t have an answer for that.

I’m keeping my focus on what’s next and practicing ways to trim my sails so I can keep my ship afloat and not be tossed to and fro by the volatility, complexity, and uncertainty that’s rushing towards us like a tsunami.

A tsunami called Metaverse.

We are buckling up in preparation for the radical changes coming our way.

Yep, it will be a wild ride.

But, keeping up with every new advance in technological capabilities will only get harder and harder.

Scary, right?

No not really; we all need to learn to adapt and be agile.

Eventually, the Metaverse will become our new normal.

I’m ready for it!

Remember, adapt.

Time to get on board because this train is leaving the station.

All aboard!!!
